We focus on qualification measures, anti stigma campaigns, poverty alleviation programs and consciousness coaching etc. with the aim of better social integration for our beneficiaries
The pro mente Upper Austria currently works at an occupation project in Suceava, where they establish a psychological centre. This project is financed by the Austrian Development Agency. The project follows two aims: To improve the situation of the patients in the psychosocial clinic in terms of infrastructure and therapeutic services as well as the general living conditions for people with social-psychiatric disabilities.
This project started in September 2005 and was finished in February 2008. In this period of time we achieved a lot of improvements, whereas some of our goals turned out to be too ambitious and hard to realize. But we made every effort to put them into practice.
In the last two and a half years we have been establishing a low-threshold consultancy service, a so called Day-Centre, for people with social-psychiatric problems directly in the heart of Suceava.
The Day-Centre is a follow-up care centre for patients after their hospital stay and a day-structuring institution offering a program for four to six hours a day, five days a week. This program covers leisure activities, sports, some work in our institution as well as some support from our personnel in terms of job-seeking and dealing with public authorities.
Over the last two years a lot of ideas have been developed about how we can continuethe project in the future or how new projects or opportunities can come into existence. For this purpose we continue to apply for funding by programs like Phare, Leonardo or other ESF programs.
